Two Freakin Funny Girls!

It's no secret that I love making cakes! Cake makes everyone happy and hyper. It just does. Kimi came up with the idea to make a cake for a really good friend of ours so we grabbed Claire and the three of us went to town! Claire spent the whole time eating the frosting while I helped Kimi stay focused and made sure she didn't do the same thing twice..cough cough
My good friends Kimi and Claire sadly haven't gotten a chance to show their faces to the blogging world so I promised I would help them out. When they found out I had a blog they made me take pictures of our cute cake making session. I, of course, was not going to complain. I whipped out my camera and here they are!

Please notice that we unintentionally are all matching. Weird right!?!?!

Next we just started putting things in a microwave. No our best idea but it was still entertaining! The movie won't work but just a tip...putting soap in the microwave is fun until your house smells like burnt smelly nasty stuff!

We aren't much of planners...

Mt. Olympus is a tough one! I started this summer with a big only bucket list of things to get done and well this one I didn't plan for very well. One morning Mary and I couldn't decide what to do. I looked at my bucket list and decided that it was time to cross Mt. Olympus off the list. We put on some hiking shoes, sports bras, tank tops, running shorts, 1 water bottle each, a small snack, and ran out the door. This was our first mistake....when hiking a huge Mountain bring more than one water bottle per person. We soon found we needed at least 3! Our next mistake was starting this hike at 12:30 in the afternoon on a 97 degree day. Yes, we are idiots!
At first we were doing really well! Feeling pretty good about ourselves!
See we are about 30 minutes into it...we thought that meant we were about a third of the way up.....

After about an hour of hiking the heat was killing us! Mary had taken off her shirt and I followed after 10 minutes. Of course, as soon as the shirts came off we saw the first people we had seen since we started the hike.....2 hours of hiking went by and we thought we were close to the top. Then a very nice man informed us we had another hour and half to go.

Picture this. Two teenage girls, no shirts, out of water, in the middle of the day, on a mountain, thinking they were almost done, then being told they had just barely made the half way point. It was not a pretty sight.

We made the smart choice of turning around and getting some water in us. I was super bummed and frustrated but it just wasn't safe to go the rest without water or food.
On the way down we had a photo shoot :)

YOLO We will just have to try again when we are more prepared!

Our spiderman moment!

Some of my friends that went to Albion Middle School told me about this place that all the cool Albion kids would sluff lunch or seminary to go to. The first time I went I somehow thought it was easy to climb up a huge steep rock....but not so much the second time when I showed Hailey and Kami. We struggled. Our shoes were too slippery so we decided to take off the shoes and be one with nature! It worked! As we were climbing we couldn't stop laughing because climbing up that steep rock really did make us feel like Spiderman! I think it's safe to say we are dorks.
I told you it was steep! This was our attempt to get up with slippery shoes

I got to the top and just couldn't help take a picture of Kami being batman and Hailey being a little afraid

We were all very happy to be at the top!

Then we looked down and I found out why shoes were invented! ouch!!!

The walk back to the car involved a really great view.

Skating and post-its

It's no surprise when I say I'm obsessed with Figure Skating! During the summer I've been ice skating at least 5 days a week for sometimes 5 hours a day. It's intense! Well after waiting for TWO FREAKIN MONTHS! My brand spanking new skates have finally fallin into my arms! The night that they got here I freaked out while my friends sat around and took pictures of the freak out!

I think I cried a little bit.
Do you remember hearing about Travis? Well that same night we decided he needed to know he was missed! We creepily went to his house and went to work on his poor car! Post-it notes EVERYWHERE! Right when I took a picture we heard his front door open! I ran for my life! Luckily I don't think he saw who we were! But it was awesome! LOVE YOU TRAVIS!!!!!
Cute Alyssa was the only one that would help me with the side that faced the doors and windows!
Check out the post-it gang!

Everybody Loves Bear Lake!

I went into this trip with the goal of getting pictures and I think I've done it! Everyone in my family is a fan of Bear Lake! Of course, Kami and Kami's little sister/ Mary's friend, KC, joined in on the trip!

Day 1: The trip started out with a long drive full of singing! Then Heather took over the job of entertainment by starting up some acting game. It was pretty funny!
We started the trip being obnoxious dorks and ended the trip being even more obnoxious dorks!

I think this was them trying to act out big foot.

Day 2: Nobody knows how we have such bad luck with boating. As soon as we got in the lake the lightning appeared and we got out of there in a matter of minutes. Then as soon as we got back to the condo the sun came out. We gave up on the lake and just headed for the pool! Then conveniently as soon as we got out of the pool it was time to dance in the rain again.
It looks a lot warmer than it was!

I have a quick story, Look at my yellow napkin..Little did I know some guy's number was just waiting for me in that puppy. I opened it up and found the number about 2 minutes after this picture was taken! CREEPY!!!!
Day 3: Sundays in Bear Lake cannot just be church and a nap. Nope, that would just be silly. It's more like meet cute boys in Sunday school, get yelled at by mom for not getting their numbers, flat tire, photo shoot/ Sunday walk, nap, then drive home.
When you walk out of church and see this, what's your first thought? Mine was- "LET THE PHOTO SHOOT BEGIN!"

Their first thoughts were- "Where should we sit around and wait."

We take our photo shoots very seriously!

That photo shoot just inspired us to do a real one so here is our attempt to be models. Please notice how Mary and KC get cute photos effortlessly while Kami and I struggled.

Treking through the mud
I've got the best little sister in the world!
I told you we don't know how to be normal!
But these two know what they are doing!
This was our last attempt!

Thanks parents for the fun trip!

Don't try this at home!

I made a mistake. A big mistake. See, when I'm bored, I think about random stuff. This time thinking led me to the idea of waxing my legs....ouch!!!!! Naturally, I talked Kami into joining me. I resisted shaving for 1 week, bought the stuff, and began this painful adventure. Words cannot describe what this adventure made me feel...so I'll just show pictures and let you guys get grossed out. Hopefully they convince you that waxing is not glamorous AT ALL!
First step: apply wax

Second step: Wait patiently and freak out a little bit
Third step: rip off wax and scream your guts out! OUCH

Final step: Notice that you're legs look like they have a disease and freak out even more for about 2 hours until the red bumps are gone.

4th of July!

I love the Fourth of July! It's just one more reason to get the family together. Plus you get a to watch fireworks. Plus America is freakin amazing! This year we went to the Real Salt Lake soccer game! I got the chance to bring Kami along so all in all, it was a pretty good day!
I'm obsessed with this girl!

A little red, white, blue, and some cowgirl boats is all you need!

Most of the Barton Clan!
